How to choose a Civics & Government worksheet
Start with the topic that matches what the student is currently studying. The Three Branches of Government is the usual starting point because it gives context for every other topic on this page, and it has sheets at grade 3 and grade 4: the grade 3 worksheet still prints a word bank, while the grade 4 version moves to recall and multiple choice without that support. Levels of Government, How a Bill Becomes a Law and the Bill of Rights follow at grades 6 and 7.
Grade level changes what a sheet asks, not just the vocabulary. A grade 2 student using Rights and Responsibilities Worksheet fills every blank from a printed word bank, while a grade 7 student using Bill of Rights writes two-to-three-sentence answers and works with cause and effect. If a student finds a sheet too easy, try the next grade up on the same topic; if it is too hard, step down one grade. The answer key prints on a separate page on every sheet, so checking work takes no extra preparation.
